Cake Pops

This my friends is where it all began. This is where I found my love for cooking and baking and trying out new things and now I can’t stop! I found this site and learned about cake pops, and my life just hasn't been the same since then. I continued on from cooking blog to cooking blog and here I am finally with my own.
Below are a few of the different cake pops I've tried the past year or so.
Easter bunnies. I made these for my nephews first birthday.
 Along with these chicks.
These were chocolate cake balls with peanut butter coating.
 Cupcakes!
I made these mad hatter ones for my cousins wedding shower.
 And tea pots.
 And some pocket watches.
I also made some for her bachelorette party, but I'll spare you from those!

I made these footballs for a super bowl party.
These I experimented with for my cousins wedding.
 Wedding cakes
 Love
Bride and grooms. I have two weddings this year I'll be doing these for!
 Christmas trees
 And lastly, santa hats.
I'm looking forward to trying  out more ideas soon!

Cake Bars

For the past few years we’ve been going out with my nephews for Halloween. Everyone always comments on what an entourage they have. It’s so much fun watching them enjoy Halloween like I used to.I got this fabulous Halloween scarf from one of the ladies I work with and just had to incorporate it into one of my posts! These cake bars were tasty and gooey.

Since I was going with a Halloween theme I got a box of the funfetti Halloween party chip. Of course I did a chocolate one to, because who doesn’t like chocolate? Well actually I don’t,  but who’s keeping track?
Mix together the cake mix, butter, and egg. Note, make sure the butter is soft enough. I didn’t wait long enough and had a hard time mixing everything together!
Press it into the cake pan.
Pour the sweetened condensed milk over the top
BAKE IT!

I alternated with my pictures of the different flavors of cake mix, just in case you thought you were losing your mind or possibly even seeing things.  HAPPY HALLOWEEN!  Want to know something? Every time I go to spell Halloween I sing the Halloween song I learned in grade school in my head! I think I may need some help. Crazy how you remember certain things.

Cake bars
Recipe adapted from PickyPalate
1 box Cake Mix
8 tablespoons (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
1 large egg
14 ounce can sweetened condensed milk

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. and line a 9×13 inch baking pan with tin foil sprayed with non-stick cooking spray.
2. Place cake mix, butter and egg into a large bowl, mixing to combine. Use your hands, it works much quicker. Press into prepared baking pan.
3. Pour sweetened condensed milk over the top.  Bake for 23-25 minutes, until cooked through. Remove from oven.
4.  After 5 minutes of cooling, run a plastic knife around edges to loosen, this makes it much easier to remove from foil.  Let cool completely, remove foil from pan, then cut into squares.  I cut off all of the edges before cutting into squares (makes for neater squares), but do whatever you’d like!!
